Support FAQ's

I hear squeaks when I am rowing.  How can I quiet things down?
This happens sometimes with slowly oscillating parts.  It's usually a pulley swivel point or the return spring hook at the small eyebolt.  The solution is to identify where the sound is coming from and put a drop of household oil on the offending part.  If you do not have oil with you, try splashing water on the part.

I hear a creaking like an old fashioned screen door.  How can I fix this?
This sound is caused by a return spring rubbing against the wood frame near the bottom.  Rotate the screw eye at the bottom of the spring slightly to center the spring so it does not rub.

The oars do not lift high enough to clear the water.  Does it need adjustment or new lifting springs?
The springs should lift the oars just above the water when there is no downward force from the handle or from the ropes.  (If there is any tension in the ropes, it will lower the oars.  When rowing with legs only, you need to learn to keep some slack in the ropes).  To check the lift height, disconnect the handles and the return springs.  The oar blades should clear the water when feathered flat.  If not, you may need an adjustment or new springs.  See your owner's manual or contact support.

The oars are not clearing the water properly at the end of the power stroke.  What could be wrong?
The blades are probably not truly vertical when in the squared position.  They should be reset to true vertical.  See your owner's manual for instructions or email support.
